EU Battery Passport Data and Evidence Management

Battery passports require structured product information, controlled updates and clear responsibility across the battery lifecycle. Emissa can organize upstream evidence and product records before they are published through the required passport infrastructure.

18 February 2027 milestone

Under Article 77 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, battery passports are required from 18 February 2027 for LMT batteries, industrial batteries above 2 kWh and electric-vehicle batteries placed on the market or put into service.

Model and individual battery information

The Regulation separates information about the battery model from information specific to the individual battery and establishes different access levels for the public, authorities and parties with a legitimate interest.

Accuracy and lifecycle updates

The economic operator placing the battery on the market is responsible for ensuring passport information is accurate, complete and current, subject to the transfer-of-responsibility rules in the Regulation.

Supplier evidence layer

Emissa can connect battery records to supplier composition data, declarations, product evidence, ownership and approvals so passport outputs can be traced back to reviewed source information.
